BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS and others to get new colours

BMW Motorrad has revealed many of the small updates its bikes are set to get for 2020. The German company has also said that these updated models will be available from August 2019 in global markets. While it hasn’t been officially announced, we can expect these changes to make their way to motorcycles in India shortly after.

The G 310 R gets a new paint finish called Cosmic Black 2 that has a lot more black than before. The front fender, radiator shrouds and rear-end are all painted black and not white like the older Cosmic Black (now discontinued). The sport-naked motorcycle also features red graphics on the bodywork, this time around.

Meanwhile, BMW’s G 310 GS can now be had in Strato Blue Metallic. This is a three-tone colour scheme that features grey, white and the new metallic-blue colour scheme on the beak and part of the tank. The GS branding on this model is in contrasting neon green. BMW has also said that Racing Red will no longer be available on this model.

New colours have been added to the litre-class models too – like the S 1000 R and S 1000 RR. The former is now available in a new paint finish called San Marino Blue Metallic, which replaces Racing Red/Black Storm Metallic. The S 1000 RR, on the other hand, gets a new colour called Hockenheim Silver Metallic.

BMW will also make a ‘Carbon package’ available for the RR; front and rear fenders, upper fairing, panel left- and right-side panel, chain guard and sprocket cover – all in carbon fibre.

For 2020, BMW will also reduce the price for optional equipment by 15 percent on the F 750 GS, F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure. This consists of Dynamic ESA, Riding Modes Pro, Comfort package and Dynamic package. Bigger ADV models like the R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure will be able to be ordered with cross-spoked wheels in gold or black for all colours/styles. All versions of the BMW R nineT will get ASC (Automatic Stability Control) as standard equipment. The German brand has also tweaked the colours and features on the K 1600 models as well.
