It’s raining discounts this season, and after Triumph and Harley-Davidson's Mumbai dealers, BMW Motorrad’s Mumbai dealer, Navnit Motors is offering big discounts on its demo motorcycles. These bikes are unregistered and that allows prospective owners to register the bikes as first owners.
The list of motorcycles includes the 2017 BMW S1000RR and the 2018 range of the R1250GS, F850Gs and F750GS. Even if you consider the lowest discount on offer – Rs 2.79 lakh off the R1250GS – the savings are massive. The 2017 S1000RRs, on the other hand, get a whopping Rs 5.63 lakh discount. That’s enough money to buy a 400-600cc motorcycle! Keep in mind that these discounts are on the on-road Mumbai prices. So, an S1000RR that used to cost Rs 27.17 lakh (OTR Mumbai) can be yours for just Rs 21.54 lakh. The demo F850GS gets a discount of Rs 3 lakh, which is significant as well. The BMW dealership is also providing a five-year loan on the demo bikes.
The GS demo motorcycles are BS4-compliant and the dealership is probably looking to clear stock before the BS6 emission norms come into effect from April 2020. As far as the 2017 BMW S1000RRs are concerned, they are being sold at a discount as the new-generation S1000RR is now on sale in India, priced starting at Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
We recently got a taste of the 2019 S1000RR at the Buddh International Circuit and were blown away by its accessible performance. The bike is all-new – the design, frame, engine, suspension, nothing has been carried forward from the old bike. The main talking point about the engine is the Shiftcam variable camshaft which offers a strong midrange punch in addition to a mental top-end.
