Bajaj has launched BS6-compliant versions of the 100cc CT and Platina commuters. The Bajaj CT100 now starts at Rs 40,794, up from the earlier version's Rs 33,402. The BS6 100cc Platinas now cost Rs 47,264 (kick-start), and Rs 54,797 (electric-start). All three BS6 models now cost around Rs 6,000-7,000 more than the BS4 models.
The upgrade to BS6 means both the CT and Platina models now use fuel-injection systems and get revised exhaust systems. Components such as the engine casing, chain cover, and fork on the BS6 CT100 are now finished in black and not silver like the BS4 model. Other than that, the CT100 remains largely unchanged. We are yet to hear about the full list of changes on the commuter. The company hasn’t revealed what else is new on the Platina either.
Sarang Kanade, president (Motorcycles), of the company said, “The introduction of these models begins the transition of our product range to BS6 norms. Bajaj Auto has scaled up their line-up of BS6 compliant vehicles and will make BS6 bikes available in the other models too in the next few weeks.”
All prices, ex-showroom Delhi.
