Hero has launched an all-new Glamour 125 at Rs 68,900 (drum brake variant) and Rs 72,400 (disc brake model). The model was already fuel-injected, which is why the company has managed to keep the price hike down to only Rs 1,450 over the BS4 Glamour.
However, the fact that it is now greener isn’t all that’s new with the 2020 Glamour 125. It’s got some big changes, including mechanical ones. Firstly, the 125cc commuter now features a diamond frame instead of the tubular double-cradle frame seen on the outgoing version.
While the company hasn’t revealed the specifications, it has said that the motorcycle now makes 19 percent more power than the outgoing model. For reference, the outgoing model makes 11.5hp and 11Nm of torque. However, the biggest mechanical update comes in the form of the gearbox that now has an additional gear, making it a 5-speed unit. Hero has also managed to increase the power on its recently-launched BS6 Destini 125.
Hero claims that the suspension travel on the new Glamour has now increased by 14 percent at the front and 10 percent at the rear. Ground clearance, too, is said to have gone up by 30mm, taking the total to 180mm. Its wider rear tyre is also expected to improve stability. The Glamour 125 comes with a start-stop system and real-time fuel efficiency indicator as well.
The 5-speed BS6 Glamour 125 is a direct rival to the only two 5-speed 125cc motorcycles in India – the Honda SP 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
