BS6 Hero Splendor Plus launched at Rs 59,600

Hero has launched the BS6-compliant Splendor Plus in three variants – Rs 59,600 (kick-start with alloy wheels), Rs 61,900 (self-start with alloy wheels) and Rs 63,110 (self-start with alloy wheels and i3S). All three variants cost around Rs 6,000 more than the corresponding BS4-compliant versions.

Not much has changed on the commuter other than the addition of a fuel-injection system in place of a carburettor. This change has brought about a small loss in power. The 2020 Splendor Plus makes 7.9hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm, while the BS4 model made a slightly healthier 8.3hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. The gearbox is the same 4-speed unit found from the BS4 Splendor Plus.

The top-spec Splendor Plus continues to offer an electric starter, alloy wheels and i3s (Hero's auto start-stop tech). While the colour schemes are quite similar too, the BS6-compliant Splendor Plus does appear to have redesigned decals.
