TVS has released the power and torque figures of the BS6-complaint Ntorq125. Its 124.8cc motor is now fuel-injected, producing 9.25hp at 7,000rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. In comparison, the Ntorq's BS4-compliant engine produced 9.4hp at 7,500 rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. As you can see, the BS6 engine produces slightly less power that also peaks at a lower rpm; the torque figure remains the same.
This minor drop in power, resulting from the transition from BS4 to BS6, is seen in almost every small-capacity scooter or motorcycle. There's a reason behind this and you can read about it here.
Coming back to the TVS Ntorq 125, it'll be interesting to see if the new BS6 motor offers as peppy an experience as the BS4 unit. The previous engine also produced a sporty exhaust note that added character to the Ntorq – we will wait for a test ride to check if the BS6 engine loses some of that note. The engine, in fact, was one of the biggest highlights of the BS4 Ntorq 125, as the scooter offered sprightly performance, despite being one of the heaviest ones in the segment.
Besides the engine and performance, we also liked the Ntorq for its ride and handling, as well as its extensive features list that includes Bluetooth connectivity.
Prices of the BS6 TVS Ntorq 125 begin at Rs 65,975. For the model- and variant-wise pricing, click here.
