CFMoto 250SR, 300SR unveiled

CFMoto has revealed the production versions of its SR supersport concept. They are called the 250SR and the 300SR; and as the names suggest, it can be had with either a 250cc or a 300cc engine. The 300SR is based on the company’s 300NK launched in India last year at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The CFMoto 250SR and 300SR have stayed true to the supersport concept the company showcased last year. The large fairing, bulky tank and raised rear section are very similar to the concept. The bikes also look similar from the front tanks to the unique headlight design. Both the 250SR and 300SR also retain the concept's aggressive supersport stance.

The 250SR and 300SR are based on the 250NK and 300NK naked bikes from the manufacturer. This is along the lines of what KTM does with its Duke and RC models. While it would have been nice to see a twin cylinder in these supersport offerings, they continue to be powered by high-revving single-cylinder units like the nakeds.

Powering the 250SR is a 249.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 27.8hp at 9750rpm and 22Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The 300SR, meanwhile, uses a 292.4cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that makes 29hp at 8,750rpm and 25.3Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. Both bikes sport a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. According to CFMoto’s website, both motorcycles also weigh exactly the same at 165kg. Other highlights include a TFT display with Rain and Sport modes.

While these motorcycles would fit in quite nicely in the Indian market – taking on the KTM’s RC range and the TVS Apache RR310 – it’ll be a while since they make their way here, as they have been revealed as Euro 4 motorcycles.
