The Benelli TRK 502 range, also known as the Qianjiang BJ500GS in China, will likely get an update soon. This revision is reported to add a full-colour LCD instrument cluster and more, according to information from a certification website in China.
At present, the TRK 502 range is equipped with a semi-digital console that has an analogue tachometer. While these types of displays are quite accurate and get the job done, they do look dated since competition has moved on to LCD displays. Even in India, the KTM 390 Adventure – a motorcycle that costs a little less than half that of the TRK – has a full-colour LCD, which is why this change is quite necessary for the model. We do not know the size of the screen as yet.
According to the source, the TRK 502 is also expected to get a revised seat and rear view mirrors. These changes are expected to bring about an increase in price. Benelli hasn’t yet launched the BS6-compliant TRK models in India and it’ll be interesting to see if these updates come along with it, when they do. For reference, the BS4-compliant TRK 502 and TRK 502X were priced at Rs 5.1 lakh and Rs 5.5 lakh, respectively (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
