TVS has been updating its website with prices of its updated BS6-compliant models over the last few months. The latest model to meet the mandatory emission standards is the Radeon, which now costs Rs 58,992 for the base edition with drum brakes, Rs 61,992 for the special edition with drum brakes, and Rs 64,992 for the special edition with disc brakes. The prices have gone up by Rs 8,000-10,000 over the BS4-compliant model.
Like every other BS6-compliant motorcycle in India, the Radeon has made the switch from a carburettor to fuel-injection as the fuelling method to meet the stricter emission norms. The 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine now makes 8.19hp at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at 4,500rpm, as compared to the BS4 Radeon’s 8.4hp at 7,000rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. As for the kerb weight, it’s now at 116kg for the drum variant, which is 4kg more than that of the BS4 model. The disc version, meanwhile, has a kerb weight of 118kg.
TVS’ website claims that the Radeon is now more refined and 15 percent more fuel efficient. We’ll put this to the test as soon as we get the chance. We were left quite impressed with the Radeon when we rode it in 2018, to read our review head here.
