TVS has updated its website with the BS6-complaint Sport and priced it at Rs 51,750 for the kick-start variant and Rs 58,925 for the electric-start variant (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). For 2020, the commuter has received a rather significant upgrade in the form of an upsized engine.
The TVS Sport now features a larger 109.7cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, compared to the 99.7cc carburetted engine on the outgoing model. The larger engine has brought better performance and fuel efficiency with it – peak output figures are up from 7.3hp and 7.5Nm of torque to 8.3hp and 8.7Nm of torque, and TVS also claims a 15 percent increase in fuel economy.
Visually, the bike remains identical to its predecessor and is available in five colour schemes – black with red, white with red, white with purple, Volcano Red and Mercury Grey. Hardware, too, remains the same, with a telescopic fork and five-step adjustable shock absorber taking care of suspension, while braking is handled by a 130mm drum at the front and a 110mm drum at the rear.
