It’s a better equipped iteration of the Ampere Magnus 60.

Its claimed top speed and range are 55kph and 75-80km, respectively.
Ampere Vehicles, the electric mobility subsidiary of Greaves Cotton, has just launched its Magnus Pro e-scooter at Rs 73,990 (ex-showroom, after FAME-II subsidiary). The Magnus Pro is a better equipped, more capable iteration of the Magnus 60, which is priced at Rs 44,699 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The price gap between the two is significant, but the Magnus Pro has much more to offer than the lower-spec Magnus 60.
For starters, unlike the Magnus 60 that uses a lead-acid battery, the Magnus Pro uses a lithium-ion unit. Ampere claims that this battery pack is good enough for 75-80km of range from a full charge. In comparison, the Magnus 60 offers much less with a claimed 45-50km. The Magnus Pro is also Ampere’s newest addition to its “high speed” offerings, second only to the Zeal. With a claimed top speed of 55kph, the Magnus Pro is capable of 30kph more than its lower-spec iteration. The reason for the significant difference is in the motor specifications – the Magnus Pro uses a 1.2kW motor, while the Magnus 60’s is specced at just 250W.
Visually and even with regards to dimensions, the Magnus Pro is nearly identical to the Magnus 60. The only differences are in the colour schemes, and possibly the kerb weight. Ampere has not revealed the figure for the Magnus Pro, but the lighter lithium-ion battery should logically result in a weight lower than the Magnus 60’s 94kg.
In terms of features, the Magnus Pro comes equipped with a digital LCD cluster, a mobile charging point, and LED DRLs.
Commenting on the company’s focus on electric mobility, Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD and CEO, Greaves Cotton Limited, said “With the increased shift towards personal mobility vehicles post COVID-19, the launch of this new Magnus e-scooter is an important milestone in our journey to strengthen Ampere’s position in the last-mile mobility segment”
The Magnus Pro will soon be available at Ampere’s 400+ retail touchpoints across the country.
