2021 MV Agusta Brutale, Dragster revealed

MV Agusta has updated its Brutale and Dragster, with changes to the electronics, chassis and more.

  • Both bikes now use a 6-axis IMU

  • The screen displays turn-by-turn navigation

  • Changes to the frame have increased rigidity

For 2021, the Brutale and Dragster get a six-axis IMU that enables traction control, launch control, wheelie control and cornering ABS; the Brutale gets cruise control as well. Both bikes feature a new 5.5-inch TFT screen this time around. In addition to regular data, this screen also pairs to a smartphone via the MV Ride app, and the connectivity function lets you see turn-by-turn navigation on the display.

At 140hp, the output of the 798cc three-cylinder engine remains the same, but it is said to have DLC-coated tappets and valve guides. The engine has new fuel injectors, piston rod bearing and countershaft bearings, and MV Agusta has made changes to the exhaust system to help it meet the Euro5 (BS6) emission norms. The Brutale and Dragster are also said to have smoother and more accurate gear shifts.

MV has also worked on the chassis and the bikes now use a reworked frame that has improved the rigidity; the suspension at both ends has been reworked as well. The Dragster now uses a 200/55 tyre at the rear, giving it a taller profile to aid its handling abilities. Another change comes in the form of a redesigned seat that is said to be more comfortable.
