TVS Jupiter ZX Disc gets start-stop technology

The scooter gets no other changes
The intelliGO system works much like the silent-start-stop system we’ve seen on some other Honda and Hero two-wheeler offerings. However, the introduction of this technology on the Jupiter makes it the first 110cc scooter to get the feature. According to the company, “TVS intelliGO enhances the riding comfort, mileage and reduces emissions by intelligently switching off the engine during long idling like traffic signals and other transient stops. The vehicle is ready to go by a simple throttle rev which enhances convenience.”
The Jupiter’s 110cc engine develops 7.5hp at 7,000rpm while producing a maximum torque of 8.4Nm at 5500rpm.
In the transition to comply with BS6, the Jupiter also made the switch from a carburettor to a fuel-injection system as a fueling method. The Jupiter’s system targets fuel economy and the company is claiming that it is 15 percent more efficient than the model it replaced. In our tests, the BS6 Jupiter returned 50.4kpl in the city and 57.6kpl on the highway. The intelliGO system should allow it to return slightly better efficiency in the city.
