It was only last month when Ather Energy signed an MoU for a 4,00,000 square feet electric vehicle manufacturing facility with the government of Tamil Nadu, at the Investment and Skill Development Conclave in Chennai. The company is now looking to grow its operations across the country. As part of its expansion plan, the company is planning to take Ather Space, its flagship experience centre format, across key cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, amongst other Tier 1 cities.
Ather has said that it is inviting dealer partners to set up these experience centres across these cities as a way to fast-track this process. The experience centre format includes a retail space and experience area, where potential buyers will get to try out the scooters and learn more about it.
At present, the company has such experience centres set up in Bengaluru and Chennai. The two-wheeler maker is using these centres to sell only the Ather 450 electric scooter as of now. This model enjoys the FAME II subsidy and sells for on-road prices of Rs 1.14 lakh in Bengaluru and Rs 1.22 lakh in Chennai.
The company has also said it will grow its public charging network, Ather Grid, in all metros in the coming months. Each city will receive fast-charging points, prior to the delivery of the vehicles.
