The RSV4 1100 Factory and Moto Guzzi V 85 TT aren’t the only big bikes that Piaggio has on display at Auto Expo 2020. The Tuono 1100 RR is also on the list, and just like the other two, has been on sale here, priced at Rs 17.96 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Aprilia doesn’t stock the bike in India and is hence available only on an order basis. Once booked, it takes 45 days to reach you.
The Tuono 1100 RR uses the same 1,077cc V4 engine as its predecessor, but a new ECU and exhaust system allow for it to rev 500rpm higher. Output figures are 175hp at 11,000rpm and 121Nm of torque at 9,000rpm.
Its hardware comprises Brembo M50 calipers, working alongside dual 330mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Suspension, meanwhile, is provided by Sachs. Also on offer is the manufacturer’s Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system, which includes eight-level traction control, three-level wheelie control, launch control, cruise control and a speed limiter, all of which can be configured and deactivated independently.
The Tuono 1100 RR on sale currently does not comply with the upcoming BS6 norms and so will be on sale only until April 1, 2020.
