Everve Motors showcases EF1 customisable scooter concept

Pune-based Everve Motors has revealed its first e-scooter prototype at Auto Expo 2020. One of the many new EV start-ups in India, Everve is owned by Srinivas Reddy, the man behind custom house Reddy Customs which specialises in four-wheeler modification.

This is the company's first attempt at a two-wheeler. The scooter will get different themes but will use the same chassis and powertrain.

Everve claims that the EF1 has been under development for a year and that 90 percent of it will be manufactured in India. The frame is made of a steel-aluminium alloy and the 3.3kW motor is said to propel the EF1 to a top speed of 110kph. While battery specifications haven’t been revealed, we do know it will be a removable unit.

The company aims to position the EF1 as a premium offering with a price tag under the Rs 2 lakh mark. At this price, the scooter is significantly more expensive than the Bajaj Chetak or the Ather 450 – electric scooters from reputed manufacturers whose claims have been put to the test. Everve, on the other hand, doesn’t have any brand identity at the moment and only time will tell if the production-ready EF1 will deliver on its promise.
