BMW Motorrad has introduced the first-ever BMW Motorrad 310 GS Cup in India, and just like the International GS Trophy, it will be an annual event. Specifically designed for BMW G 310 GS owners, the 310 GS Cup will see contestants tackle a series of skill and endurance tests.
The zonal qualifiers for the event will be held in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, and Bengaluru for G 310 GS customers from all across the county. The winners of the respective zonal qualifiers will compete in the national qualifier that will be held on April 5, 2020, in Bengaluru. Those who wish to participate in the 310 GS Cup can register at BMW dealerships across the country.
Entrants have to meet two requirements to be eligible – have a valid driver’s license, and they will have to bring their own motorcycles. To keep the event open to amateurs-only, BMW Motorrad has restricted the entry of BMW Motorrad staff and anyone who holds a motorcycle race license. This is an interesting initiative from the German manufacturer, considering the surge of entry-level adventure bikes and enthusiasts in our county. Adventure riding camps and trophies are quite common with bigger bikes, and the 310 GS Trophy will be the first to provide a similar experience while being accessible to a larger audience.
